Investigators are now offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to a conviction, in the investigation of the Evergreen Apartments fire from August 8, 2011. The complex is located at 9209 W 79th Street in Overland Park.
The Overland Park Fire Department says the fire destroyed six units, totaling about $750,000 of damage. Investigators have not been able to determine an exact cause of the fire. They do continue to call it "suspicious."
The $5,000 reward is being offered by the United States Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, who is assisting Overland Park Police and the Fire Department with the investigation.
