Two men have been arrested by Lawrence Police after a report of shots fired in the 800 block of W 24th Street at 12:31 a.m.. Police were informed that the shots were fired from a gray Cadillac. Witnesses were unable to tell officers if the shots were fired at a person, an object or fired randomly into the air.
Officers were able to locate a vehicle matching the description of the Cadillac witnesses reported seeing. The vehicle was spotted in the 1800 block of W 23rd Street. Numerous Lawrence Police Officers converged on the vehicle and conducted a felony stop. Two male occupants were taken into custody at gunpoint.
No injuries were reported related to the initial incident or the vehicle stop and arrest.
The men have now been booked into the Douglas County Jail and are awaiting arraignment on charges. Both men show to live in Leavenworth. The first man, a 21-year-old, is being without bond on charges of Criminal Discharge of a Firearm and Aggravated battery. The second man, a 19-year-old, is being held on a $2000 bond on a charge of Aiding a Felon.
