Overland Park Saturation Patrol, July 29th

Police in Overland Park have announced that they will be conducting a Saturation Patrol throughout the city on Friday night. The effort is scheduled to begin at 11 p.m. Friday evening and scheduled to end around 3 a.m. early Saturday morning.

Between those hours the Overland Park Police Department will have extra officers patrolling frequently traveled routes and looking for drivers who appear to be under the influence of drugs/alcohol or in violation of other traffic laws.

Upcoming DUI Checkpoint in OP and Johnson County wide Saturation Patrols

The Overland Park Police Department has made it known that they will be conducting a DUI checkpoint tonight. The checkpoint will involve Officers from throughout Johnson County, including the Johnson County Sheriff's Department.

The location and approximate times for the operation are never disclosed ahead of time. Police say the enforcement effort is aimed at reducing alcohol related crashes and to discourage driving while intoxicated.

Numerous agencies throughout Johnson County have also announced that they will be conducting Saturation Patrols Friday and Saturday during the evening through early morning hours.

As always, never drink and drive.

Missing Olathe Man, Josh Wilcox, 27

UPDATE: July 15, 2011 11:45 a.m.: Olathe Police have located Joshua Wilcox deceased near Santa Fe and Mur-len. Police would only say that foul play is not suspected.

The Olathe Police Department is asking for help in locating a missing adult, Joshua M. Wilcox age 27, who was reported missing on July 3, 2011.



Joshua is described as a white male, 27-years old, 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing approximately 130 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a yellow and black or blue polo shirt, white shorts and blue/gray Nike shoes. He also has "sleeve" tattoos on both arms.

Wilcox was involved in a single vehicle accident in Overland Park and was arrested by Overland Park Police for DUI. After the arrest he was released from the Police Station and picked up by a friend who dropped him off at the entrance to his apartment complex near 135th Street and Blackbob Road in Olathe, where he was last seen around 6 a.m.

Police have also said that Wilcox has family ties to Colorado, along with friends in several other states.

Overland Park Police seeking public's assistance

UPDATED: 11:40 a.m.
Police have confirmed that they have identified the woman. No further details are being released.

Overland Park Police are asking for the public's assistance helping them identify an elderly woman who was found, collapsed, in a parking lot near 110th Street and Lowell late Monday. She was transported to an area hospital for treatment, where she remains as of 6:30 a.m. Tuesday morning.

She is described as Caucasian, approximately 80 years old, no teeth, slender build, gray hair and brown eyes. When she was found she was wearing gray, a white t-shirt with an American flag on it and wearing pink slippers.

Police tell Operation 100 News that they have reason to believe she may have walked away from a home healthcare setting or possibly a residential healthcare facility.
