The Overland Park Fire Department is investigating the cause of a fire that broke out Tuesday evening, before 5:45 p.m. in the 8300 block of Hadley Street.
The Fire Department says that witnesses reported hearing what they believed to be an explosion just before they noticed the fire, which then moved up the walls of the complex
Overland Park Firefighters were assisted by crews from Merriam, Lenexa, Johnson County Consolidated Fire District No. 2, Shawnee and Olathe.
The fire was declared to be out shortly after 8 p.m..
Initial reports indicate that more than six units were damaged along with numerous garages. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. No injuries were reported. One firefighter was treated at the scene for heat exhaustion. No one was transported from the scene.
