Overland Park issues burn ban

The Overland Park Fire Department announced today that the city is now under a burn ban until further notice. City officials cite continued extreme dry conditions and low humidity for the ban.

All open and recreational burning is banned. Previously issued burn permits are also currently suspended. Anyone found to be in violation of this burn ban can be fined $500.

Residents with any questions regarding the burn ban can contact the Overland Park Fire Department at 913-438-4888.
