K-7 accident in Shawnee

The Kansas Highway Patrol and Shawnee Police are investigating an injury accident that occurred shortly before 1 p.m. at Kansas Highway 7 near the 43rd Street intersection.

There are reported to be two injuries involved. One of those is reported to be serious.

Reports from a witness at the scene is that a truck was T-boned by another vehicle. The truck rolled onto it's side and was then pushed back to its wheels by witnesses. The Shawnee Fire Department advised that the truck involved sustained heavy damage.

The truck's driver is reported to be a male in his late 60's.

The Kansas Highway Patrol says that a vehicle was traveling westbound on 43rd Street, ran a red light while entering the intersection and struck a truck traveling northbound on K-7 Highway.
