Just before 1:20 a.m. early Sunday morning, Olathe Fire, Police and the Kansas Highway Patrol were dispatched to a single vehicle rollover accident. The accident occurred in the northbound lanes of Interstate 35 under 119th Street.
Fire units arriving on scene reported that the vehicle had sustained "significant damage" and that two occupants would need to be extricated from the vehicle.
All three northbound lanes of the interstate were shut down while crews worked the scene, traffic was diverted onto 119th Street.
Two men, one in his "mid 30's" and another in his "mid 40's" suffered critical injuries in the accident.
The Kansas Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the accident.
All three northbound lanes were reopened to traffic shortly after 4 a.m. Sunday morning.
