Shawnee Police continue to investigate after someone fired shots at an occupied vehicle in the Park 67 Apartments near 67th Street and Nieman Road early Tuesday morning.
On Thursday, Major Sam Larson told Operation 100 News that officers were dispatched to respond to an armed disturbance in the 10900 block of West 65th Place around 2 a.m.
"The initial investigation revealed that a shooting occurred and the victim's vehicle was shot while he was in it," Maj. Larson said. "We currently have not found any buildings that have been hit with gunfire."
Operation 100 News reached out to police on Tuesday morning asking for details regarding the reported shots fired call. Captain Jason Brunner responded to the emailed questions with, "the shots fired is currently under investigation so we don't have any details to release at this point."
On Thursday, Major Larson said police are not asking for any assistance in locating anyone involved in the incident.
"Our Investigations Bureau is working with the Johnson County Criminalistics Laboratory Crime Scene Unit on the investigation," Maj. Larson said.
No other details have been released.
