Shawnee Police were called to an address in the Carlyle Apartments, near 75th Street and Quivira Road shortly after midnight Thursday following an accidental shooting.
Officials say a man, in his early 60's, reached into a drawer where he kept his .38 Smith & Wesson when the gun fired. The bullet grazed the man's hand.
Johnson County Med-Act arrived at the scene and reported the man's injury to be non-life threatening. He was transported to an area hospital for further treatment.
No other details have been released.
This is the second accidental shooting in Johnson County within just the last three days. Early Tuesday morning a sleeping De Soto man was shot in the genital area.
