Police Officer injured in morning accident

A Gardner Police Officer was involved in a two vehicle accident Saturday morning. The accident occurred around 7:30 a.m., in the 700 block of E Main Street.

Fire crews, from Johnson County Fire District No. 1, reported that two vehicles were involved in the accident and both had sustained moderate damage.

Johnson County Med-Act reported that a Police Officer and a civilian were said to have suffered minor injures in the accident and were transported, by Med-Act, to an area Hospital to be checked out.

Due to the accident involving a Gardner Police Officer, the Johnson County Sheriff's Office is investigating the accident.
