Update:
The Johnson County District Attorney's Office has filed an Attempted Second-Degree Murder charge against 33-year-old Mario McIntosh. He is being held on a $1,000,000 bond.

Original Post:
Shawnee Police are investigating after they received reports of a man who fired gunshots from a vehicle, possibly aiming for a second man. It happened just before 11 a.m. Friday morning in the Prairie Lakes Apartment, in the 6800 block of Lackman Road.

Callers reported a black male in a passenger car firing a handgun and then leaving in a vehicle. No injuries were reported.

Police quickly saturated the area and contacted a man believed to have been the intended target of the gunshots. That man was able to give Police a description of the man and the vehicle which he fled in. After interviewing witnesses and gathering evidence on the scene, Officers and Detectives were able to identify a potential suspect and release his information to neighboring agencies.

Shortly before 12:30 p.m., Friday afternoon, the alleged suspect's vehicle was located abandoned in a Kansas City, Kansas neighborhood. Further searching led KCK Officers to the man's location, where he was apprehended and handed over to Shawnee Police, just before 1 p.m..

The man has been booked into the Johnson County Jail, where he is currently being held on an unrelated warrant. Charges for the Shawnee incident are pending.
