Lenexa Police say they were called to the Sonic Drive-In, located at 8610 Pflumm Road, just after 10:15 p.m., Sunday night.

Police are not releasing many details other than a brief description of the suspect. He is described as a white male. He was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans, with a black do rag over his face.

Officers say the man fled on foot after getting an undisclosed amount of cash, after forcing two employees into the cooler. No injuries were reported.

Police would not comment on whether or not they believe this Sonic robbery to be related to a weekend Sonic robbery near 104th Street and Blue Ridge Boulevard in Kansas City, Missouri on Friday night.

Anyone with information on either robbery is asked to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (8477)
