Estranged couple's Murder Suicide in Overland Park

At 3:30 p.m. Overland Park Police confirmed to Operation 100 News that the female victim, 56-year-old Debra Beaver, has passed away at an area hospital as a result of her injuries. Police also say that the male person of interest, 58-year-old, Barry Beaver, and the dark red 2012 Dodge Ram were located in a field near 141st Street and Lamar Avenue. The male was found to be deceased of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

A source confirms to Operation 100 News that the estranged couple were in the middle of a divorce. Barry Beaver filed for Divorce on October 17, 2011. A few days later, Debra Beaver filed for a protection order from stalking against Barry Beaver.

Overland Park Police are investigating after a shooting in the 5800 block of W 145th Street in southern Overland Park. Johnson County Med-Act and Overland Park Fire were dispatched at 10:14 a.m. Thursday morning.

A source familiar with the incident tells Operation 100 News that a woman sustained one gunshot wound to her neck. She was shot as many as five times. Police were initially called to the address on reports of an armed disturbance.

The suspect is only described as a white male driving a 2012 model Dodge Ram truck, that is dark red in color.

Police continue to investigate and say the woman is in critical condition. No other information was immediately available from investigators. The Johnson County Sheriff's Office along with Kansas Highway Patrol are assisting in the investigation.
