Two seriously injured in Overland Park crash

The Overland Park Police Department is investigating a crash which left two people seriously injured.

The crash occurred around 12:15 Friday morning at the intersection of 87th Street and Antioch Road.

Overland Park firefighters arrived on the scene to report two vehicles were involved and one came to rest off of the road.

Johnson County Med-Act transported two people from the scene. One of the injured was said to have critical injuries and the other serious injuries.

Radio traffic indicated that a 28-year-old man, the driver of one vehicle, admitted that he had been drinking prior to the crash.

The southbound lanes of Antioch Road were closed from Santa Fe Drive to 88th Street. Both directions of 87th Street were closed west of Antioch to Benson Street. All lanes reopened around 2 a.m.

Police have not released any other information.
