Victim identified in fatal hit-and-run accident

Overland Park Police have identified the victim of last night's accident as 35-year-old Tiana J. Beall of Overland Park, Kansas. 

Authorities say they have located the vehicle involved in the accident. No arrests have been made in the case at this time. Detectives are actively pursuing leads and no other information is currently available.

Original Story:

Overland Park Police are investigating after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle, late Tuesday night.

Around 10:40 p.m. emergency personnel responded to the area of W. 71st Street, just to the east of Metcalf Avenue on reports of a hit-and-run accident involving a pedestrian.

A 35-year-old, white female, was found critically injured. Johnson County Med-Act transported her to a local hospital, where she later died as a result of her injuries. The victim has not been identified.

The Overland Park Police Department's Traffic Safety Officers continue to investigate the accident.
