Dispatchers say that two, of the three, lanes were closed due to the accident. Those lanes were reopened shortly before 4 a.m.. Olathe Police are handling the investigation into the accident.

Police say the officer was conducting a traffic stop and was in the parked police vehicle when a tractor trailer made a sudden lane change to avoid rear-ending the stopped patrol car. The tractor trailer sideswiped the patrol car causing moderate damage. The officer was transported to an area hospital as a precaution.
