Johnson County Sheriff Deputies along with Johnson County Med-Act responded to the 200 block of W Nelson in Edgerton (southwest Johnson County) just before 6 p.m. Saturday evening on reports of a woman with a gunshot wound.
Med-Act arrived and found a woman with a gunshot wound to the neck. The victim was transported to Overland Park Regional with serious injuries. She is expected to survive.
The alleged suspect in the shooting is the victim's sister who has been taken into custody. The sister has not been formally charged. She is expected to be charged with Attempted First Degree Murder according to a jail booking log.
