A man in his 30’s was critically injured when the SUV he was driving crashed into a ditch in Shawnee late Saturday night.

Shawnee police, firefighters, and Johnson County Med-Act were called to the
14200 block of Midland Drive shortly before 11 p.m. on a reported rollover
crash.
Firefighters had to remove the passenger’s door to safely extricate the driver, who was found lying across the passenger’s seat.
The man was transported to Overland Park Regional Medical Center with critical injuries.
Recorded radio traffic indicates officers suspect alcohol may have been involved.
Midland Drive was closed between 67th Street and 68th Terrace for about two hours as emergency crews worked the scene.
Shawnee Police continue to investigate the crash.
