Firefighters rescued a man from an apartment fire early Saturday morning in Lenexa.

The Lenexa and Overland Park fire departments were called to the building at
13166 West 88th Court in the Rosehill Pointe Apartments just before
2:45 a.m.
Recorded radio traffic indicates those crews arrived to find flames visible from a second-floor apartment on the front of the building.
Neighbors informed police officers that a man was still inside one of the apartments.

Firefighters were able to locate the man quickly and safely remove
him from the building.
The man, only described as being in his late 30s, was found inside his apartment when firefighters arrived. He was transported by Johnson County Med-Act to the University of Kansas Medical Center to be treated for second-degree burns to his upper body.

Firefighters had the fire under control within 10 minutes. No other injuries
were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, and a damage estimate was not immediately available.
