According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, at approximately 6:10 a.m. Sunday, a California woman was driving too fast for conditions and lost control of her 2001 Ford Explorer. The vehicle left the roadway, struck a guardrail and rolled over, coming to rest against the support pole for the overhead sign.
No serious injuries were reported in the accident.
A statement from KDOT says a boom truck will be parked in the median of the interstate to support the sign until repairs can be made.
KDOT says the left lane of eastbound I-435 will be closed during the day Monday for crews to make the needed repairs.
The sign is located just before the Lackman Road exit.
