The officer found the vehicle crashed in the courtyard just to the south of the Johnson County Courthouse. The vehicle came to rest near the fountain in the center of the courtyard.

The courtyard is just east of Kansas Avenue and Park Street and sits between the Johnson County Courthouse and Johnson County Administration Building

Olathe firefighters reported the vehicle was heavily damaged and the driver was the only occupant.

Crews had to extricate the driver from the vehicle.

Johnson County Med-Act says the man's injuries are life threatening. He was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.

The driver has only been identified as a 19-year-old, man.

Olathe Police continue to investigate the accident and no other information was immediately available.
