Lenexa Police have confirmed to Operation 100 News that they have two suspects in custody in connection with the June 23rd robbery and shooting. The incident occurred Thursday, June 23rd around 3 p.m. at the Jewelry Shoppe, located at 7753 Quivira Road in Lenexa.
Police say that during the incident, the jewelry store owner was confronted by an armed person and was subsequently shot once in the back. Police stated at the time of the incident that a man and a woman were seen in the area at the time of the shooting. The two suspects, described as a man and a woman, have not been formally charged at this time and remain in custody at the Johnson County Detention Center.
The jewelry store owner remains in a local hospital and is expected to recover.
