Two men escape Lansing Correctional Facility

That Kansas Department of Corrections and area Law Enforcement are on the look out for two men who escaped from the Lansing Correctional Facility on  Tuesday evening. The men were confirmed missing at 6 p.m. from the facility's East Unit, which is minimum-security.

Chad Duane Amack
Officials say 22-year-old, Chad Duane Amack, was serving a 23-month sentence for convictions, out of Shawnee County, related to Theft and Aggravated Burglary charges. Amack is described as a white male, 5-feet 9-inches tall, weighing approximately 175 pounds, green eyes and brown hair. He was scheduled to possibly be released as early as March 2012.

Matthew Glen Allender
The second escapee is 28-year-old, Matthew Glen Allender. Allender was also serving a 23-month sentence for  convictions, out of Shawnee County, related to two charges of Theft. He is described as a white male, 5-feet 8-inches tall, weighing approximately 180 pounds, brown eyes and brown hair. His earliest possible release date was May 2012.

Officials say that the men should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with any information on the whereabouts of either man should call 911 or the Lansing Correctional Facility at 913-727-3235.

This is the second escape in under two months from Lansing. Ronnie Dale Peters, 33, escaped from the facility on Sept. 14th (Link). Law Enforcement launched a multi-agency manhunt on Sept. 15th (Link). He was captured Sept. 16th in Gardner (Link).
