Follow up to previous story: Johnson County Burn Bans
Several area Fire Department's issued Burn Ban's over the past several weeks due to the extended period of dry conditions. With last week's rainfall, a few of those have now been lifted.
Burn Bans for the city of Olathe and Unincorporated Douglas County have been lifted.
Always remember that prior to any open or recreational burning, you are responsible for checking with your local fire department and acquiring any required permits or special permissions that may be required in your area.
Many area fire departments also have special guidelines that must be followed when burning. Fines for failing to comply with burning regulations can range from $50 to $500 or more.
