Olathe home damaged by early morning fire

Two adults and a dog were displaced by a fire at their Olathe home this morning.

Fire crews were called to the home in the 800 block of E. Loula Street shortly after 3:30 Friday morning.

The residents of the home called 9-1-1, as they were evacuating, and reported a fire in a bedroom of the home.

Arriving fire crews reported heavy smoke "pouring out" of the single story home.

Incident command reported the fire to be under control at 4:11 a.m..

No injuries have been reported.

Fire investigators are on the scene working to determine the cause.

Man found stabbed in Olathe neighborhood

Olathe Police are investigating after a man was found stabbed early Wednesday morning.

Police were called to an address in the 1300 block of E. Loula Street around 12:30 a.m. on reports of a stabbing. Officers arrived to find a 20-year-old man with at least two stab wounds at the address.

The victim told police that he was walking to the QuikTrip at Santa Fe and Ridgeview. A man jumped out of a car and stabbed him.

Johnson County Med-Act reported the victim's injuries to be critical. He was transported to an area trauma center for further treatment.

Police are looking for three suspects who sped away from the area in a silver Chevrolet Monte Carlo with front end damage. All three suspects were described as white males, one was armed with knife and wearing a ski mask. One of the other men was said to be armed with a baseball bat or a wrench. No other descriptions were immediately available.
