Two people found shot inside JoCo home; one fatally

Olathe Police have now confirmed that Tuesday night's double shooting was a domestic dispute and possibly an attempted murder-suicide.

Police say 51-year-old Tammy J. Johnston was shot in the thigh during the dispute. Investigators believe that 52-year-old Donald J. Johnston may have shot her and then himself.

Police say Tammy Johnston remains hospitalized in serious condition.

Olathe Police are investigating an apparent domestic disturbance which resulted in two people people being shot inside a home.

Sgt. Grant Allen says officers were dispatched to an address in the 15800 block of W. 148th Terrace around 10:20 Tuesday night.

On their arrival officers found a 51-year-old female with a single gunshot wound to the thigh. She was transported in critical condition to an area hospital where she is underwent emergency surgery according to an Operation 100 News source. She remains hospitalized in serious condition.

Officers also found a 52-year-old male dead of an apparent gunshot wound. The victims have not been identified and the relationship between the two victims has not been confirmed by authorities.

The incident was reported to Olathe Police by a female family member who had locked herself in a bedroom. She was not injured.
