Driver critically injured in collision with bridge

A single vehicle crash critically injured one person this morning near Gardner.

Emergency Dispatchers say the accident was reported before 6:50 Monday morning. Johnson County Fire District No. 1 arrived to report a mini van had struck a bridge and sustained heavy damage.

Crews extricated one person from the vehicle. That person, only described as a "female in her 30's", who is said to have suffered critical injuries. She was transported to an area trauma center for treatment. The vehicle's airbags did deploy in the accident.

The Johnson County Sheriff's Office is investigating the crash. No other information is currently available.
