Lawrence Police have announced that they will be conducting a DUI check lane within in the city on Friday evening.
The Lawrence Police Department along with the Douglas County Sheriff's Office both taking part in the special enforcement effort which began August 19th and continues until Labor Day, September 5th. Law Enforcement Officers are on the lookout for anyone driving impaired, speeding and seat belt/child restraint violations.
The Kansas Department of Transportation is providing funding for overtime to allow agencies to increase patrols during the special effort.
