The Shawnee Police Department and the Johnson County Sheriff's Office have announced that they will be conducting a sobriety and driver's license checkpoint in Shawnee. The check lane will be held the evening of Friday, April 8th, into the early morning hours of Saturday, April 9th.
Drivers should expect to be briefly detoured through the check lane. Anyone suspected of being intoxicated will be subject to a series of sobriety tests. Drivers who are impaired will be arrested. Drivers without a valid drivers license will be ticketed.
