Johnson County WaterOne has wrapped up their part of a major construction project which forced the closure of the southbound lanes of Quivira Road from 75th to 85th Street.

The project began Wednesday, April 25th and was fully reopened around 12:30 p.m. on Friday, May 4th. Work was initially expected to last as long as three weeks.

Crews replaced valves on the 30-inch transmission water line which lies under the southbound lanes of Quivira Road. A statement released late Friday says that crews often worked until 10 or 11 p.m. and this allowed them to complete the project in only 10 days.
