Overland Park Building Fire latest

At approximately 7:45 p.m.  this evening the Overland Park Fire Department was called to respond on an Automatic Fire Alarm at 9000 Bond Street. Upon arrival crews requested a 1 alarm response after finding a working fire in the warehouse area of the building. A 2nd alarm response was ordered minutes before 8 p.m. and then a 3rd alarm just after 8:30 p.m.

According to Overland Park Fire, the building is used by Bo Ling's Chinese Restaurant as a warehouse.

One firefighter suffered a twisted ankle just before 9 p.m. He was treated on scene for what was described as a minor injury and was not transported from the scene by ambulance.

Firefighters and their apparatus were called in to help from Lenexa, Shawnee and Merriam Fire Departments. A Johnson County Emergency Communications Mobile Command Post was also brought out to the scene to assist.

As of 11 p.m. tonight, fire crews remain on the scene extinguishing hot spots. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
