Arrest made in JoCo Homicide

Overland Park Detectives have identified the man killed in Friday afternoon's shooting as, 21-year-old, Brandon L. Holmes of Overland Park.

Detectives have also arrested a 21-year-old man with a Kansas City, Kansas address in connection with this homicide. The suspect has not been officially charged. He is scheduled to be charged with first-degree murder on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m..


Police continue to seek the public's assistance in investigating the incident. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (8477) or the Overland Park Police Department at 913-344-8750.

Overland Park Police are investigating after a man was found shot to death Friday afternoon.

Police say they were called to an address in the 9100 block of Robinson Street on a medical call around 3:20 p.m.. Officers arrived to find a black male in his early 20's with an apparent gunshot wound to the chest. Johnson County Med-Act pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Detectives continue to investigate the incident. No suspect information has been released.

The victim's name is being withheld until family members can be notified.

Two found dead inside Leawood home

Leawood Police confirm they are investigating after officers found two people dead inside a home near 104th Street and High Drive before 2 p.m., Tuesday.

Police say they were called to the home after an "immediate family member" asked them to check the welfare of the residents who were not answering the door. Officers, along with Leawood Fire and Johnson County Med-Act responded to the address, where officers located two subjects, a man and a woman, deceased inside.

The cause of the deaths has not been released, although investigators say the deaths were not from natural causes. Officers say they are "not actively searching" for any suspects related to the deaths.

As of Tuesday night, Investigators say they are investigating the deaths as a Murder-Suicide. The subjects have only been identified as a man in his 50's and a woman in her 40's.

No other information is currently being released.

Suspicious death investigation in Lenexa

Updated Story: Dominic Camacho has been arrested and charged with First-degree murder in his wife's death. He is being held on $1,000,000 bond. Prosecutors allege that Dominic Camacho strangled his wife, Leslie Camacho, to death inside their Lenexa home early Wednesday morning.

Lenexa Police are investigating a suspicious death this morning in the 13000 block of West 94th Place.

Police say they were called to an address in the 13000 block of West 94th Place before 2 a.m., Wednesday, after receiving a report of a possible Domestic Disturbance. When Officers arrived they found a woman, later identified as, 35-year-old, Leslie Ann Camacho, dead inside the home. Camacho's husband was found in the home and was taken to Lenexa Police Headquarters for questioning.

Johnson County Med-Act responded to the scene shortly after 2 a.m.. One person was reported to be deceased at the address.

Officers secured the home until a search warrant could be obtained. Johnson County Sheriff's Office Crime Scene Investigators arrived on scene shortly before noon, Wednesday, when the search warrant arrived.
