Overland Park Police are investigating after a man robbed the CVS Pharmacy at 75th Street and Metcalf Avenue.
Officers were called to the store, located at 7501 Metcalf Avenue, just before 1:30 Sunday morning on reports of a robbery. Several officers were able to arrive in less than a minute, as they were just down the street breaking up an underage party.
Employees say that the suspect approached an employee, told them he had a gun in his hoodie and demanded money.
Police say the suspect left the business with an unknown amount of cash in a CVS sack.
Overland Park Police Public Information Officer Gary Mason says the suspect is a white male, described as 5 feet 8 inches tall, skinny build and hazel or green eyes. He is believed to be 18-22 years old.
The man was last seen wearing a black and gray hoodie with a bandanna over his face.
Officer Mason says the suspect "entered the store covering his face and acted like he had a gun in his hoodie. He approached a cashier and got away with an undisclosed amount of money."
Police believe the suspect fled the area in an older model black Jeep Cherokee.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Overland Park Police at 913-895-6300 or the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-8477.
