Overland Park Firefighters and Johnson County Med-Act were called to the site of new apartment buildings under construction near the intersection of 135th Street and Switzer Road shortly before 2:50 p.m. Monday.

Firefighters reported one person partially pinned under the collapsed scaffolding. Two men were transported to an area hospital. One was said to have sustained critical injuries, the other man was seriously injured. Both men are said to have fallen approximately 15-20 feet, according to the Overland Park Fire Department.

A Fire Department spokesperson says that the two men were beginning to lower themselves on the scaffolding when it collapsed and both men fell to the ground. OSHA will investigate the incident.
