The following message is intended for informational purposes only. It is not the intention of Operation 100 to single anyone out. Operation 100 is a 100% free service with more than 90 hours dedicated to its operation each week, by one person. Currently funded with private personal funds and occasional public donations.

In order to keep Operation 100 free to the public the following message must be shared. Without the support and understanding of our followers Operation 100 is nothing and will cease to exist on Twitter or anywhere else. Comments are welcome on this page using the box provided after each post. Comments will be publicly visible. Just a reminder for those following Operation 100's Updates on Facebook. As of Tuesday, February 1^st, Facebook posts will be limited and will not include all posts that are shared on our Twitter page. With the lack of Page controls currently available through Facebook it is not possible to restrict who sees posts and how the posts are shared by followers. 

If you currently follow Operation 100 on Facebook and do not have a Twitter account, signing up is fast, free, and easy. It can be done here Twitter.com/signup.  After your account is setup simply go to Twitter.com/Operation100 and select “Follow” or after February 1^st “Send Follow Request”. On that same page you can select to receive Operation 100’s tweets directly to your mobile device.

Effective Tuesday, February 1st, Tweets will be protected. Those already following Operation 100 on Twitter will not be affected by this change but by continuing to follow are agreeing to the following; by sending a “Follow Request” or continuing to follow @Operation100 you the follower are agreeing that you will not, without expressed written permission, redistribute, publish, post or otherwise share any content posted on the Operation 100 Twitter page without doing one of the following. 

Retweeting is encouraged, within reason. Please DO NOT retweet every post made, doing so may result in you being removed as a follower and being blocked from viewing our posts, as this defeats the purpose of Operation 100 posts being protected and allows anyone to see them. If you choose to share a tweet without using the Retweet, credit needs to be given to @Operation100 in EVERY REPOST that you make. This can simply be done by adding, @Operation100 to the end of your tweet. Copy and paste, without using the Retweet or adding @Operation100 to your new Tweet is not allowed and those that do so may be removed from following Operation 100 and any new requests to follow Operation 100 on twitter may be denied at Operation 100's discretion.

It is also NOT ALLOWED for you to Retweet Operation 100 and then Copy & Paste without including @Operation100 in your new post. If you received the information from an Operation 100 post you must give credit to Operation 100 by including @Operation100 in each post using information obtained from Operation 100. Again, those found to be doing so are subject to a potential block.

Charges Filed after Early Morning Pursuit

Overland Park Police have filed charges against the driver involved in an early morning pursuit that started in Kansas City, Missouri. The chase started at 39th Street and Pennsylvania, around 3:00am, when Kansas City, Missouri Police attempted to stop the car for suspicion of Driving Under the Influence. The driver refused to exit the car and took off. The chase reached speeds of nearly 80 miles per hour while on Ward Parkway. The chase then moved over to Holmes where the driver entered I-435 going east. While on the interstate, Kansas City, Missouri Police attempted to throw spike strips in front of the vehicle on numerous different occasions.

The driver blew through the Three Trails Crossing and went eastbound on I-470. The chase exited at Raytown Road and then immediately got back on I-470 and went back westbound. Again the chase passed through Three Trails crossing continuing westbound on I-435 towards Kansas. Reaching speeds of just under 100 miles per hour the chase reached Stateline Road where Leawood Officers were waiting with more spike strips across the highway. After striking one of the spike strips the driver continued on I-435 to the interchange with US 69 Highway in Overland Park where the driver went southbound. By this time Kansas City, Missouri Police had their Helicopter and a K-9 unit involved in the chase, along with Overland Park Officers.

The chase sped down US 69 Highway until it reached 151st Street. The driver was holding one hand out of the drivers window taunting the Officers who were pursuing him. Overland Park Police made contact with the driver's parents at the residence that he shares with them in South Overland Park. The subjects parents stated they were on the phone with their son and he was making suicidal comments to them. The chase exited US 69 Highway and started east until they reached Marty Street where the subject drove into a back parking lot at the Blue Valley District Offices and became boxed in by Officers.

The subject refused to exit the vehicle or obey any of the Officer's commands. While attempting to escape in the vehicle the subject backed into Kansas City, Missouri Police K-9 vehicle and then became stuck in the snow. Kansas City, Missouri Police used a less lethal, bean bag round to open one of the vehicles windows so they could better see the subject inside. When Police moved in, to take the driver into custody, the subject attempted to fight with Officers and was sprayed with OC Spray (Oleoresin Capicum or Pepper Spray). The subject was taken into custody and then transported by Johnson County Med-Act to a local hospital for evaluation.

Two Kansas City, Missouri Police vehicles were damaged during the pursuit and one required a tow truck. No Officers involved were injured.

Wednesday Morning the subject was booked into the Johnson County Jail. He faces numerous charges including; Aggravated Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer with a Motor Vehicle, Flee & Elude, Obstruction of the Legal Process, Criminal Damage to Property and Driving Under the Influence.

MISSING TEENAGER FOUND

Just before 9:50pm Monday evening Lenexa Police Officers located missing teenager, Nathaniel Darrah in the home of a Family friend. It is not believed that the residents were aware that the missing teen was in their house. The home is located near 93rd Street and Lenexa Drive, just west of Quivira Road.

Darrah had not been seen since around 8am Monday morning near 95th Street and Bluejacket in Overland Park, as he was walking to school at Westridge Middle School in the 9300 Block of Nieman Road.

School authorities reported Darrah missing just after noon Monday. Overland Park Police immediately began searching the area. About 3pm, Overland Park Fire Department began searching storm drains in the area for any sign of the teen and assisting Police in a door to door search. The Kansas Highway Patrol assisted in the search with their helicopter and the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department also volunteered their helicopter to help search.

MISSING: Nathaniel Darrah

The Overland Park Police Department is asking for the public's assistance in locating a missing 13 year old Autistic boy, Nathaniel C. Darrah. He was last seen in the area of 95th Street and Bluejacket in Overland Park, near Oak Park Mall. Nathaniel was walking to school and never arrived.

Nathaniel is described as 5ft 9in to 5ft 10in in height, 150lbs. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, white tennis shoes, black jacket with a hood.

Anyone with any information or if you have seen Nathaniel today, you are urged to call the Overland Park Police Dispatch at (913) 895-6300.

Survey Update

Have you taken the Operation 100 Followers Survey? If not you can take it HERE. So far only 45 people have participated and I know there are more active followers than that, so take the survey and let your voice be heard. The survey was opened January 18th and will remain open until February 21st to give all of our followers time to give their votes. While the survey remains open, there will be daily reminders posted on the Operation 100 Twitter and Facebook pages with a link to the survey page.

With the results that have been collected this far, it appears that there are many followers out there that currently only get Operation 100 updates while on the Web at Twitter and Facebook. The Operation 100 Facebook page will not provide updates starting February 1st, so if you have not already and plan on continuing to see Operation 100 updates please follow on Twitter. 

The results so far also show that many of you would like to receive Operation 100 updates on your Mobile Phone. You can do this through Twitter absolutely free. Simply go to Twitter.com/Operation100. On that page you will see the following screen.

You will see in this screenshot I have put a yellow box around the button to click. When you click on that button a box will display that reads "Before you can receive @Operation100's Tweets as text messages, you need to activate your phone. Do this now?" When you select the OK button you will be taken to a Mobile setup page. Select your country and enter your mobile phone number.

Many who have taken the survey have expressed that they are not willing to pay if Operation 100 were to become a paid service, but are willing to make a donation to keep the service free of charge.
