Olathe Police confirm they are investigating the Bass Pro Shop, 12051 South Renner Boulevard, was burglarized.Officials say officers were dispatched on a commercial burglary alarm at 12:19 a.m.. Upon arrival officers located a broken window and signs of forced entry into the building.
Lenexa Police Department sent a K-9 unit to assist with the search of the building and surrounding area. No suspects were located in that initial search according to Police.
A couple hours later a Shawnee Police officer located a vehicle matching a description of a possible suspect vehicle and after making a vehicle stop, three males were taken into custody related to the burglary.
As of Monday afternoon, Police confirm that five assault rifles were stolen during the burglary. Authorities say all five of those weapons taken are AR-15's. Police have not released whether or not those assault rifles were recovered when three people of interest were apprehended by Shawnee Police.
Also this afternoon, booking records show three men have been arrested and booked into the County Jail on burglary charges. The three men range in age from 19-25 years old. The men have not been formally charged at this time.
