Lawrence Police investigating early-morning shooting

Update:

Lawrence Police now say that 33-year-old, Demetris Reese of Lawrence accidentally shot himself early Wednesday.

Sergeant Trent McKinley tells Operation 100 News reporting partners at the Journal-World that, "Reese was arrested on suspicion of criminal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon Wednesday after showing up at Lawrence Memorial Hospital around 3 a.m. with a gunshot wound to his leg."

Lawrence Police are investigating after a man with a gunshot wound showed up at Lawrence Memorial Hospital this morning.

Police were called to LMH by hospital staff at 3 a.m. after a man with a single gunshot wound to the leg arrived in the emergency room.

The victim told officers that the shooting occurred in the parking lot of Allstars Gentlemen's Club, 913 North 2nd Street in North Lawrence, around 1:45 a.m.

Lawrence Police are investigating the incident and are still trying to determine where the shooting occurred.

No suspect information or any other details have been released.
