Second of four in Ottawa County jail break captured

UPDATE: All four escaped inmates back in custody.

The Kansas Department of Corrections (KDOC) says around 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, Drew Edward Wade, one of the three men who escaped from the Ottawa County Detention Center, was captured in North Platte, Nebraska.

A KDOC spokesperson says that the escape remains under investigation and no other details are currently being released.

An Ottawa County Official says that Wade turned himself into authorities at a North Platte, Nebraska Walmart after speaking with his father.

KDOC says all escapees should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information on their whereabouts is urged to call 911, the Kansas Bureau of Investigation at 1-800-572-7463 or the Ellsworth Correctional Facility at 785-472-5501.
