WEATHER: High & Moderate risk of Severe Weather to our west

The National Weather Service's Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Oklahoma is predicting a HIGH RISK of severe thunderstorms across parts of South Central and Southeast Kansas, stretching southward into Central and Eastern Oklahoma. The predicted area includes, Wichita in Kansas and Oklahoma City & Tulsa in Oklahoma

Moderate risk of severe thunderstorm is predicted across Central and Southeast Kansas stretching to Central and Eastern Oklahoma and parts of Western Arkansas.


Slight risk of severe thunderstorms is predicted from the New England states stretching south to the Mid-Atlantic region and then west into the plains.


A regional outbreak of severe storms in these areas could include very large hail, damaging winds and potential for several large/strong tornadoes. This is expected to begin this this afternoon and evening.

Those located within the predicted areas are encouraged to stay tuned to local media for warnings and have a safety plan in place.
