Firefighters make quick work of JoCo house fire

Firefighters made quick work of a De Soto house fire.

Dispatchers say the call was dispatched just before 6:30 a.m. when they received a call from a resident.

Firefighters from Northwest Consolidated Fire District arrived on the scene to report nothing showing from the single story home at 8155 Wea Street.

Crews located a working fire in the home's attic at 6:38 a.m. and reported that fire to be under control at 6:48 a.m..

One crew from the Lenexa Fire Department responded to the scene to assist with the incident.

The American Red Cross has been requested to assist three adults and four children who were displaced by the fire.

No injuries have been reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
